If you have got an interest in understanding how solar energy works as a the way to reduce your energy bills by utilizing it as an alternative power source, then facts listed below about this form of energy are going to capture your interest! Solar energy is a replenish-able resource and one of the oldest forms of renewable power. In fact, the sun’s rays are so powerful that if we were to convert them all into energy, the planet would not run out of energy for another 4.5 billion years, scientists say. As well, solar energy does not create dangerous byproduct which could harm the environment.
In the early 1950′s, this energy was looked upon as an alternative to synthetic energy resources. Further studies lead to the discovery that energy could be obtained through less-expensive sources. The demand for this energy has grown seriously within 20% to 50% during the last 20 years.
Solar power can support home devices, lighting and water heaters. It can help you run anything electrical. Today, this type of power is fairly high priced, but in the future, with increased research, new methods will be found to cut down the costs, and increase the efficiency of the process. It is estimated that by the year 2025, 2.5% of our planet’s energy demand will be met by solar energy. This makes it one of the fastest growing technologies of our time.
There are some essential details about this sort of power that you should know. Solar energy is measured in kilo watt hours, and one kilowatt=100 watts. One kilo watt hour equals the total amount of electrical energy that is required to light a 100 watt light bulb for a span of 10 hours. 866 kilowatt hours is the average monthly consumption of a typical American household. The residential energy consumption survey conducted in 2001 shows that a yearly energy bill was around $2,000 per household.
A lowering in unit costs has contributed towards a growth in the use of solar energy, making it a vital alternative power resource. Since the year 2000, solar energy has grown at an annual rate of forty percent. Solar power is being used increasingly in the developing countries too, as using the demand for energy has doubled over time .
In comparison to solar energy, which is a constant alternative power source, ordinary fuel reserves are dwindling. And unlike pricey power grids, setting up solar energy devices ( if you are going to make solar panels, as an example ) is easy. The drawback of normal fuels is that the costs have risen along with the price of transporting coal, oil and gas.

The concept of green power has become quite the focus recently as more and more people are finally starting to truly accept the benefits of going green. Even though there will be people who dont really know what it means completely, what hits people first when people talk about green power is the fact that it is a cost-saving opportunity for anyone who uses electricity and other forms of energy.
Whether you drive your car, whether its a sixty mile commute each way every single day to work or once a month down to the local market, you consume energy. Most often in our daily rituals energy comes in the form of foreign oil. And the byproduct of burning oil and gas is carbon emission, which is deemed accountable for the increase in global temperatures every year for recent memory.
Green power is quickly becoming a household term and while most people still havent tried out its benefits into their daily routines, there is a growing list of potential uses that cannot be brushed aside any longer. Saving money is certainly the most important benefit to most people, especially in todays difficult global economy.
Imagine saving five, ten, or even twenty dollars a day by using green energy. If you had ten dollars a day saved up, at the last day of one month that would be a savings of three hundred dollars! Add that up over an entire year that total would then be $3,600. Maybe that amount doesnt mean much to you, but for most people it can be a full months salary for millions of people.
Is it realistic? Certainly. Green energy is expanding every day into households and regions that had been opposed or simply refused to consider it for years, and the people who are benefiting from it are benefiting in large quantities. The most typically thought of green energy sources are solar and wind energy. Trapping the power of the sun and the wind has been a fascination and goal of generations for hundreds, and even thousands, of years.
These considerations arent new, but when automobiles became the primary mode of transportation during the twentieth century, oil turned into the main source of energy resources. Consumers didnt care about the long-range effects, and there would be no long-term consequences. People once considered coal in the same light, yet today those conceptions have long-been proven inaccurate.
Green energy produces clean, renewable energy, something that cannot be claimed about oil. Once the oil runs out, there wont be another source. But, this wont happen in most of our lifetimes, but it will happen. The more crucial point about green energy is that it is clean. And efficient. Whenever you have a source of power that produces little or no harmful emissions, and will continue to provide year after year, then you have something that should become a routine for just about anyone.
